#Review# Go Acne-Free with Eucerin DermoPurifyer

Acne! One of the biggest enemy in my life! Whenever it comes, it gives me big bumps and agony on my face, I’ll look like having bad face day every day until it subsides.

I may not have acne-prone skin, but there are times when my skin develops 1 or 2 acnes below my chin. I suspect it’s due to dirts from my hands or hair ends. Having acne tends to affect me in my daily life like when at work or our for some parties and events. It’s kind of embarrassing to have that swollen bump pits out-of-no-where on the face.

This explains why even though I do not have acne-prone skin, I will still use (n alternate days) products which target on acne.

There are four factors responsible for the visible symptoms of acne:

1. Cornification at the opening of the sebaceous-gland follicle
2. Excess sebum production
3. Proliferation of acne bacteria
4. Resulting in inflammation.

Because not everyone has the same skincare needs to target acne, skincare researchers from Eucerin went through some study with dermatologists before coming out with a new skincare line to target on acne-prone skin problem.

This skincare line is….. Eucerin DermoPurifyer.

Inorder to prevent acne from appearing, skincare researchers developed a formulation in Eucerin Purifyer with some ingredients which are effective to deal with the 4 factors.

One of the main key ingredients is Lactic Acid.

  • Able to dissolve thickened epidermal cells caused by acne, as well as comedones.
  • Addresses the first factor of blemished skin and promotes an improved flow of sebum.
  • Enables better penetration of the other ingredients.
  • Contains NMFs (natural moisturizing factors), which provide the skin with urgently needed moisture

Previously, Eucerin DermoPurifyer consists of the basic skincare, toner, cleanser, scrub. My review on the basic skincare can be found HERE.

Added on to the skincare line is the Care and Correcting skincare, DermoPurifyer Active Concentrate, DermoPurifyer Hydrating Care, DermoPurifyer Active Night Care and DermoPurifyer Cover Stick.

I was sponsored 3 Eucerin DermoPurifyer products from Eucerin and The Sample Store.

  • DermoPurifyer Active Concentrate  (30ml $29.90)
  • DermoPurifyer Hydrating Care (50ml $25.90)
  • DermoPurifyer Active Night Care (50ml $25.90)

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Concentrate
It is a serum, to be applied after toner, before moisturizer.

Comes in light watery-gel texture. Easily absorbed into the skin, leaving a matte finish on my skin. Skn feels soft, as if it is all-ready to absorb the moisture from the next product to be used.

I personally feel serum is important in a skincare regimen. Serum usually comes in watery texture, it has smaller molecules and so it is easily absorbed into the skin, as compared with moisturizer. Most serum preps the skin, softens the skin so as to ensure the products (usually moisturizer) to be used after that will be effectively absorbed into the skin.

Surprisingly, after massaging in the serum, my pores seem to be less visible.

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Hydrating Care
Day time moisturizer, comes in cream-gel texture.

Despite its cream-gel texture, Eucerin DermoPurifyer Hydrating Care is absorbed into the skin within 1-2 minutes of massage. Same as the Active Concentrate, it leaves a matte finish on my skin. My foundation is able to last longer, oil shine appears at about 3 hours after application of Hydrating Care.

The cream gel also helps reduces skin blemishes and prevents the formation of new ones. Fine lines on my laugh lines are less visible, prolly because of the sufficient moisture.

Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Night Care
A night moisturizer which helps to take care of the skin while we sleep. During the night, the skin will take its own process to do some self-repair. This is also the time when DermoPurifyer Active Night Care will further improve on the skin regeneration process.

Comes in white creamy texture. Also easily absorbed into the skin, leaving the skin feeling soft moisturized. Active Night Care leaves a half-matte finish on my skin.

With its formulated Follicle Active System, it provides a continual supply of lactic acid during the night and dissolves cornified skin, which promotes better flow of sebum. The refreshing cream activates the skin’s own regenerative capability.

For the Night Active Care, oil shine appears on my skin about 2-3 hours later but my skin feels not as oily as I’ve expected!

Having using these 3 products for 3 days, so far so good. No signs of redness and breakouts, acnes were kept at bay. Loves the matty finish they leave on my skin. 🙂

The Eucerin DermoPURIFYER range is available at most leading pharmacies, Guardian, Watsons, Unity, hospital retail pharmacies and National Skin Centre.
