Singapore’s 1st Holographic Fashion Show!

We all know fashion show is all about having pretty models walking down the runway, showcasing apparel and accessories collections. Sometimes the models don’t have an eye contact with us. We also do not get to see the “behind the scenes” on how the models manage to change at super fast speed.

But now, for the first time in Singapore, there is this Holographic Fashion Show, FASHION+REVEAL, in conjunction with the 6-week FASHION+ (read as “Fashion Plus”) campaign at 313@somerset!

FASHION+REVEAL basically highlights to shoppers about “what’s new” at the apparel shops located at 313@somerset.

Instead of using the conventional way like showcasing new clothes and accessories on mannequins, posters, FASHION+REVEAL showcases a 3D model image inside a box. There will be scenes whereby the 3D model image will change into a various of outfits and accessories from the participating brands at the mall!

We’ve conceptualized the FASHION+ campaign to engage and excite shoppers by adopting a unique concept of presenting the latest items from the mall. The holographic fashion show – the highlight of our campaign – is a Singapore-first and also a bold step in incorporating technology with fashion“, said Amy Lin, General Manager, 313@somerset.

So where’s this magical box?

It’s located at the Discovery Walk, entrance glass door which is next to Marche. This box has got a big TV screen with the 3D model image.

It’s a pretty model, who was almost “real-life” inside the black box changing into a lot of gorgeous outfits.

From taking off her previous outfit, she started to grab the next outfit to wear, right infront or your eyes!

That’s not all, heels were also being showcased. The 3D model would sit on the white chair, put on the heels! Everything looked so real-life!

Just like me who loves to play “dressing up”, she would pair with some accessories and posed like she’s looking at herself on the mirror!

and showcased her final outfits, having eye contacts with you!

If you would have noticed, no matter where i stood to take the above photos, the 3D model image was always looking into my direction! This is why it is called Holographic Fashion Show! No matter where I move to, the 3D model image is always having eye contacts with me.

Quoted from wiki,

Holography is a technique that allows the light scattered from an object to be recorded and later reconstructed so that when an imaging system (a camera or an eye) is placed in the reconstructed beam, an image of the object will be seen even when the object is no longer present. The image changes as the position and orientation of the viewing system (in this case, viewing system is our eyes) changes in exactly the same way as if the object were still present, thus making the image appear three-dimensional.
