3 new colours are added to Lip Drops family.

Lip Drops new colours, Sweet Sweet, The Pink and Crysta Queen, are formulated with Za’s signature ingredient, Vitamin E derivative, well-known for its moisturizing property.

I love how Lip Drops lippie give the plumping effect to my lips each time my lips facing dry situation. The glossy and dewy effect add a shine and moist to the lips, and make the lips looking so kissable!

3 new eye colour palettes are added to the Eyes Groovy range.

From left to right, we have Pinkish Brown, Clean Gray and Wine Red.

All 3 palettes suit a different occasion with their long lasting colours which are very pigmented on the skin. The powder is easily glided and blended. I notice that the eye shadow colours tend to change over light reflection. At one point when the light is shown from an angle, the pearly shade may look sheer, but when light is shone from another angle, it looks intense.

The last star product from Za will be the Killer Volume Mascara. This mascara has the biggest and thickest bristles that I’ve ever tried.

Because of the thick bristles, I have no problem volumising my eyelashes, even the shorter ones lower eyelashes.

I have thought it’s those tear drops with shimmer for highlights on the eyelids. I was wrong. This white tube is actually a lash care for the eyelashes! Lash Jelly Drops is a rich treatment gel for repair and protect the fragile eyelashes. It somehow makes my eyelashes look more define and makes mascara application smoother with less clumps.

Already launched since 24 Jan 2013.

A new mascara is also added to its mascara family, Lash Expander Edge Meister.

I like how the mascara coats darken my eyelashes, making them look much more define than before. Lengthening-wise, not too bad, but I tend to create uneven length because of the different amount of mascara fibre I pick up each time.

The duo comb makes eyelash separation very easy for both upper and lower eyelashes. But too many coats will cause some clumping, because of the fibre, and when this happens, eyelash separation using the duo comb is not effective anymore.

Already launched since 24 Jan 2013.

And finally… here’s my pick from Majolica Majorca Chapter 36! It’s my very own Little Humming Book 1 !!

Isn’t the packaging too pretty to resist?!

The Little Humming Book totally looks like a book that tells a story in music notes. It ends with a page of the 4 gorgeous colours.

Most eye palettes have light-colored base. In Little Humming Book 1, the base colour is the a dark one. The two eye shadow eye colours, Flower Dust is more to a light pink, while Green Shower is in mint. Both can be applied on their own as eyeshadow or as highlight on the lower lids, or mixed with the Moonless Night dark-colored base.

A different angle from the light reflection  gives a different shimmer eye makeup look. Very versatile colours for both day and night looks! I like how the colours look so pigmented on my skin with light dabs.

Tulip Bed is a gloss here. So, do not mistaken it as an eye shadow ya!

Because of the little book packaging, I am so going to keep my Little Humming Book 1 for a quite before throwing it away after hitting the pan!

The Little Humming Book 1 is to be launch on 28 Feb 2013. It may be gone fast as this will be launched in limited edition.

[Product Review] Kick It Side 3-piece point make up! Photo overloads!

I have received a 3-piece point makeup kit from Skin79 recently. The kit looks so chic that I decided to try it out immediately last weekend!

Skin79, the renounced Korean BB cream brand has now developed a whole series of makeup range. Kick It Side is the new brand name for the make up range that is all about the new K-POP look in trendy colours. Kick It Side cosmetics carry pretty bright colours and long-lasting texture to complete the creative and fantastic makeup simply and easily.

Let’s Go Glam! Kick It Side Eyeshadow Base

To start it off, I laid my hands on this pot of creamy texture eyeshadow base! Available in Metallic Pearl and Silvery Grey with chic names, “Come On” and “Go Out” respectively!

For a natural yet brighten up eyes, “Come On” is THE ONE!

It isn’t as soft as what I have expected, then again, using the appropriate tool to scoop up the appropriate amount is easy. Try to avoid using fingers  which may contaminate the product/colour to pick up the eye shadow.

A few ways to pick up the eyeshadow:

• Using cotton bud/spatula, followed by using fingers to pat and blend.
• Using makeup sponge/brush and blend

Shimmer and colour wise are not very intense for Come On, the metallic pearl shade is almost sheer and natural. But it sure help to brighten up and brings a deeper crease line from my double eyelids when I open up my eyes.

One plus point that I must bring out, it is the promised and guarantee non-smudging and non-creasing properties! Despite after wearing it for the whole day, there was not a single bit of embarrassing crease line on my eyelids (when eyes are closed/blinked)! Not only that, the velvety silky finish remains long lasting till the end of the day!

Oh yes, it can also be used as a highlighter for the inner corner of the eyes and even bottom eyelines!

The silvery grey Go Out will be a good choice when comes to smokey eyes look.

Hey! Excolor me? Kick It Side Fantastic Eyeliner

After applying Come On, I actually skipped eyeshadow and followed up with the Kick It Side Fantastic Eyeliner with its interesting tagline “Hey! Excolor me?” Oh yes yes yes, I wana color you!

 

Drew my eyeline with Wanderers Brown. I am wondering if it is because it is in crayon texture, gliding isn’t as smooth as what I have hoped for. I am too used to drawing eyeline using liquid eyeliner.

It is retractable and comes with build-in sharpener at the back of the eyeliner.Use the sharpener to control the thickness of the lines.

Wanderers Brown becomes intense with slight glittering after a few strokes.

Kick It Side Fantastic Eyeliner is also waterproof and smudge proof! It didn’t stain my eyelids! Tested and proven by me!

Kick It Side Mascara

Only available in two types, one for lengthening and another for voluminous eyelashes.

I got the Hedwig Lash to try. Gosh, I love it LOR!

The deep black and fast-drying formula gives high definition to my eyelashes, no worries about lash clumps and smudging!

Hegwig Lash comes with a curved brush with bristles in rich coats. The curve is so well-designed that even short/drooped lashes can be well-coated.

I don’t really believe in zig-zag application for mascara. Bear in mind, there’s no rules on how you want to do your makeup. As long as my lashes can be well coated and separated, zig-zag or vertical directions can work well together.

Super easy to apply even on my short bottom eyelashes!

From side view, my eyelashes look really naturally long and thick, a good substitution for falsies! No eyelash curler is used in this review.

To create an even more dramatic look, try using both Hegwig Lash and Poseidon Lash together!

Finally, I want to emphasize that Kick It Side mascara contains ingredients that care for the eyelashes, keeping them strong and healthy.

I have to admit that Kick It Side makeup is indeed smudge-free and long lasting (as long as 8  hours when I last used it) despite having an oily face after 5 hours.

Despite the colours are seem to look loud and bright, with some light dabs and strokes, a simple and natural looking FOTD can still be achieved.

My Humble Tips on: How to have a Gold Christmas look this year?

It has been a long time since I played around with colours on my eyes and nails.

My recent favourite eyeshadow belongs to the Hello Kitty Kawaii Duo Shadow in #13 – OR & TERRE! It’s basically in dark brown in metallic finish and shimmering gold with metallic finish.

Previously I did a vertical gradient (shown in the Hello Kitty makeup blogpost), and now, I am doing a horizontal gradient here.

Horizontal gradiant is very easy as long as you dab the colours bit by bit. I will prefer the outer corners of the eyes to be in darker shade to create a smokey and deep intense look on the eyes. In any case I have overdone it, I will “erase” the excess with my foundation, or lighten the colour with the lighter shade. Lighter shade will start from the center to the inner corners of the eyes.

To further enhance the “Gold Christmas” feel in my look book, I went to dig a bottle of nail polish in gold and purple (from MAC Cosmetics, 2011 Christmas).

Thanks to Sasa SG for sharing with the facebok fans on some DIY nail art. I try to DIY using the steps on Sasa SG facebook with my MAC nail lacquer and I must say though my “Gold Christmas Tree” wasn’t looking good enough, I am still very satisfied with my first trial.

Add on some spare swarovski crystals to glue onto my “Gold Christmas Tree” to add that “bling” feel on my big toenails.

I guess I will just have to put on a dark purple, red or a black outfit to make my “gold” stands out!

So here I am, an eyeshadow which gives me a horizontal gradient gold, and a nail lacquer in gold, with a simple DIY nailart, that’s my two humble tips on how to have a Gold Christmas look this year.

#Review# Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hr – Intense & Vibrant colours for the eyes!

I was invited to the Maybelline Fab Fashion Flea last weekend! Just like the previous Maybelline events held at Zouk, it’s all about what colours of eye makeup to go with the various outfits from blogshops to create a different look.

A total of  8 colours were showcased at the event. But I did a search and realized there are more than 8 colours for this new range! I chanced upon 05 Too Cool and 30 Promegranate Punk!

Anyway all the intense 8 colours which I’ve done a swatch are so vibrant that no one should have problem putting the colours. Even if it’s just a light tab, the colours are noticeable enough.

Not all colours give a metallic finish.

The best of all is, the colours are super long-lasting! They are also smudge-proof despite their creamy texture! Even when I tried to use a normal wet wipes to clean them off, the colours remain vibrant and intact on my skin! I had to use a proper makeup remover from Maybelline to fully clean them off. So I guess that explains why the name “Colour Tattoo 24 Hr” ?

I got myself two colours from this new range, Tenacious Teal and Edgy Emerald. Both give the metallic finish and the reason why I choose them is that, I can blend the two colours together to create a slight gradient look on my eyelids!

Back at the flea event, I grabbed two apparels from VainGloriousYou (VGY)! Thanks to Tricia and her helper for their recommendations!

I was contemplating between size S and M, the ladies recommended me size S for both pieces, which turned out to fit me well enough!

My first piece was a lacey dress in Navy Blue. Yet to be launched. So I recommened whoever loves lace and oriental kind, cheongsam-styled dresses, this piece is a keep!

What caught me to buy this piece is because of the lace overlay at the dress hem. That is super pretty!

Available in size XS, S, M, L. Comes in red, navy, nude beige and 1 more colour which I cannot recall.

Second piece is a launched and a manufactured piece from VGY

VGY Primrose Structured Peplum Top in Floral Lilac (with satin blue trimming)

Available in size S, M, L. Can be paired with a short tight skirt for office wear or a pair of shorts for a casual weekend date! There is a side zip attached as well.

Despite I missed the fashion show at the event due to the bad weather, my trip was not wasted at all, with makeup and clothes that I left the event with me!

It is so easy to apply even if you are a newbie to eyeshadow! The colour is easily picked up. Blending needs some skills and efforts.

As I use it for work, I do not overdo the eye makeup but has sort of just applied slightly above my crease lines to enhance the double eyelids visibility.

Simple and can be natural if I apply with light strokes.

Mascara, one of the cosmetics that do magic to the eyes. I cannot do without a mascara because it really thickens my eyelashes and bring some “life” to my tired-looking eyes.

It is my second time to try a brown mascara. When I want to go for a sweet look with light makeup, Hello Kitty Pretty Mascara 04 – Intens Brown is my choice.

Hello Kitty Pretty Mascara comes with a high-tech double fiber bristle which makes volumizing and lengthening the eyelashes possible.

However I face a little mascara clumping my eyelashes issue. I have to give my eyelashes some brushes to separate the lashes.

On closer view, my eyelashes look sparsely separated. But from afar, especially from sideviews, they look just right and natural.

I just have to be patient and give my eyelashes a few more coats (before the coats get dried) to result my perfect mascara-ed eyelashes.

I tried on Hellow Kitty Tokyo Hit Blush 02 – Florence on my skin which is relatively fair.

The blusher is also very pigmented and I totally neglected it and overdone with the blush on my cheeks one day! Then again, when comes to makeup, it is just like doing schoolwork, any mistake made, we will just need to erase and redo. When my cheeks are super blushed, I actually layer them with two-way cake or loose powder. This helps to lighten the blush. It really helps!

2012 Christmas Collection – MAC All For Glamour Touch Up Kit Medium

I am finally back from my Europe trip! That explains the haitus in updating my blog~

For those who have followed my instagram and twitter, you’ve prolly seen some of my shopping buys?

It was a crazy shopping trip in Europe. My HB had a hard time dragging the uncountable shopping bags back to hotel! Heh!

When I stopped by at Charles De Gaulle airport on my departure day, I couldn’t resist the shopping there too. Despite the miserable shops at the airport, I managed to grab myself an item from MAC cosmetics 2012 Christmas collection! *Happy Me*

I always have a hard time trying to grab the limited collections from MAC in SG, so when I managed to get one at the airport, I was uber happy happy and more happy!

So just a quick post here to show off my MAC All For Glamour Touch Up Kit Medium! Cost me €31.20.

It comes in a light pink cushion case, inside with blot powder and 1 lipstick.

Blot powder are available in 3 different shades, from the lightest to the darkest. Frankly speaking, after trying out the 3 shades, they make no difference on my skin. All 3 shades blot powder are transparent on the skin, they aren’t going to do any coverage, or to affect your skin tone. It basically helps to mattify the skin during the day.

Each blot powder shade comes with a matching lipstick, no way to mix and match the lipstick to your liking. So there are chances where you feel you want the lightest blot powder but the lipstick isn’t the colour you want.

But if the blot powder is not going to affect your skintone, you can just go ahead to pick according to your favourite lipstick colour.

For the cushion case, it is only available in light pink for this touch up kit. Eyeshadow and bronzer kits will come in other cushion colours.

Black Tie : Don’t get deceived by the name, it’s not totally black but mainly with some greyish and highlights. Ideal for those who loves shimmering highlights and low pearl finish.

Cafe Au Lait : Sounds like coffee? Basically it is made of brown and beige colours, both in matte finish.

Classic Khaki: An earthly kind of colour, beige x olive! Consists of very light shiny finish.

Heathered Plums : Low pearl finish lilac x matte finish plum shades.

Misty Teal : This Duo is beautiful, I love the teal with pearlized finish!

Precious Metals : All about gold and coppery bronze!

Temting Taupe : I quite like this too! Ballerina Pink in low pearl finish x Taupe with matte finish.

Makeup is always all about playing with colours. I had mine at the Elizabeth Arden booth. My MUA actually picks quite a few shades on me.

Initially I wanted a sweet look, but after adding on and on, seems like abit of smoky eye look suits me too.

The most amazing part is, MUA actually picks  brown to add some contours to my nose, to enhance the nose sharpness! Elizabeth Arden eye colours are just so versatile that there’s no need to have additional product for face contours!

And when comes to highlighting shades, they can be used on the bottom eye lines too! Very natural-looking and it doesn’t look I have overdone with the highlights.

I had my Beautiful Color Eye Shadow throughout the day, all the way to a movie date at night, the colours were still vibrant and no smudges! I am impressed!

I did a search on the scent notes of the Red Door Aura, the top notes are Bergamot, Raspberry and Orange Blossom. middle notes are Jasmine and Rose, while the base notes are Sandalwood, Musk and Amber. The feminine sweet scent from Red Door Aura smells perfect young women in the 20s and 30s.

At the private event, I had the opportunity to customized my own scent which was going to be scented to a handmade keychain aka handbag charm!

Sandalwood is a one of the very popular base note when comes to scent, because it helps to keep the scent long lasting. That is why I actually gave many drops of Sandalwood to my keychain! Other than rose, I made Orange, Lily and Raspberry my middle notes! Rose is my top note!

It has been like 3 weeks since I custom-made the scent, the bag charm is still scented now!

Even though Red Door Aura is meant for the young women, my mum in her 50s fell in love with it too!

Mary Kay Timewise Plus – For a lifted look, and firmer skin!

I had one of my evenings with Mary Kay.

It was a secret evening, where bloggers were given a box of secretive presents, to discover the secret to a younger V-look skin!

Sharing what’s the secret that lies within the 2 products…

Prior to achieving firming skin,  keeping the skin hydrated is a must. Hyaluronic Acid has been well-known for hydration purposes.

There are 2 ways that hyaluronic acid can be added to the skin. One way, also the most well-known way, is by adding it to a skincare product formula. Moisture from Hyaluronic Acid is provided when applying the product.

The second way, which Mary Kay implements, is making use of Regena-Firm Complex.

Regena-Firm Complex is all about allowing the skin to produce Hyaluronic Acid by itself (with the help of key ingredients, plant stem cells, specialized peptide, potent botanicals. Amazing!) so that the skin is able to aborb moisture and at the sametime, lock the moisture on itself. Skin then feel supple and moisture boosts!

I believe searching for a good eye cream is so much harder than a face cream. Here’s a good one you may be keen.

What I like about the eye cream is that it helps to illuminate the skin. It’s due to the liquid crystal that is embedded inside the eye cream. That’s kind of nice!

Mary Kay Timewise Plus+ Intensive Serum uses Regena-Firm Complex too.  It is like the star product of the evening!

The light gel-like texture feels non sticky and absorbs like almost immediately as soon as I massage on my skin. It is supposed to give the skin a lifting effect, firms and tighten sagging skin, keeping the skin moisturized and supple.

One immediate I see is the reduction of fine lines.

#Review# The Highly Popular 4 BB Cream from BRTC!

In this October, I am seriously BB cream overdosed! I have received quite a few tubes of BB cream for reviewing, and I am super happy about it.

I have always been curious about how each BB cream is said to heal/improve the skin’s condition. It can be applied in thin layer, serves as a makeup base or concealer, or a moderate layer as a liquid foundation. Either way, it is able to provide some coverage for the face.

I’ve taken the before and after photos from using the BB creams. The difference is very noticeable.

All 4 BB creams are almost equally good and I have a hard time deciding which is my favourite.

Despite all 4 BB creams have different shades, they are able to blend into my skintone which looked natural after application. I guess this what a good BB cream is all about, isn’t it? They are supposed to suit many different skin tones, blend into the skin tone to look natural and almost perfect.

Jasmine Water BB Cream

Jasmine Moist System is what this BB cream is all about keeping the skin moisturizing and soothing.  It also provides brightening effect for both sensitive and dry skin types.

The truth about my combination skin is, I have uneven skin tone, pigmentation like freckles, and a little redness due to my thin skin. (It’s true, my skin is quite thin after a skin analysis which I’ve done before)

Texture of the BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream is light and blending is easy and smooth. The result is very obvious, my skin looks smooth and has the natural glow!

Comes with SPF 30.

I actually follow up with loose powder or two-way cake (depends on my mood) after the bb cream. Surprisingly, my skin feels hydrated for up to 5 hours before I do another touch up using two-way cake.

Gold Caviar BB Cream

Gold Caviar is all about delaying aging skin and solving signs of an aging skin. Wrinkles and saggy skin are few of the signs we can see from an aging skin.

What happens is that, BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream contains Caviar, Collagen and other nutrients that will help to protect the skin from against environmental damage, nourishes the skin to turn soft and smooth, less wrinkles and improve skin’s elasticity.

It also comes with SPF 50 PA +++ which is very sufficient to protect skin from sun damage.

The texture is a little more thicker and heavier than BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream. It also has the darkest shade among the 4 BRTC BB Creams in this blogpost, so coverage-wise it pretty good, especially with concealing fine lines near the eyes and frown lines.

Whitening & Repairing BB Cream

BRTC Whitening & Repairing BB Cream has almost the same protection system as BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream. It doesn’t focus on fighting against wrinkles, but also whitening, for those who are looking at a fair skin complexion, like me.

Unlike from the BRTC Gold Caviar BB Cream, it has the lightest shade and gives very fair and natural coverage to the skin.

Apart from repairing wrinkled skin, it contains active elements to achieve a bright and smooth skin.

Comes with SPF 37 PA ++.

Aqua Rush Water Drop BB Cream

From the name and you’ll know it’s about hydration for the skin. BRTC Aqua Rush Water Drop BB Cream makes use of an Aqua Rush System to hydrate dry skin type.

Comes with SPF 28 PA ++.

As I spread on the bb cream on my skin, tiny water drops are released from the bb cream to hydrate and quench skin’s thirst. That’s what the Aqua Rush System is all about.

After

Despite it’s less creamy texture, it is able to conceal most of my skin’s imperfections. My 2nd love among this 4 bb creams.
