After we were done with dry works, came to the last station, manicure/pedicure! Yay!

#Review# Beauty Bistro’s Baby Foot Easy Pack

Exfoliation on the feet can be a little tiring to do, which is why I do it during pedicure session.

But now, I have found a better product for easy and convenient feet exfoliation.

Beauty Bistro’s Baby Foot Easy Pack, the winner of the Best Treatment for your Sole in the Clea Beauty Hall of Fame 2012, gives a gentle exfoliation to the feet and promises a soft and smooth feet skin.

It’s basically a pair of 3D plastic socks to be worn over the feet for 2 hours, wait for another 2 to 7 days for the peeling process to end before seeing the result.

I must confess despite countless pedicure sessions, the dead skin cells on my soles are still “growing”. Reason is because of my long hours of wearing heels that have caused pressure to the soles.

The skin on the soles are thicker than most areas of the body, dead skin cells can easily be accumulated on thick skin. Exfoliation is necessary to get rid of these dead skin cells.

Tried out Baby Foot Easy Pack a week ago, and here’s my review.

You’ve been warned.

Opening up the package was messy-free, the plastic socks were sealed before usage. They contain the exfoliation ingredients. The principal ingredient of Baby Foot is Citric Acid, which is an organic acid used since ancient times. It penetrates into the layer of dead skin cells and works on the desmosomes between the skin layers, enabling easier peeling.

Getting ready to wear the 3D plastic socks,

6 pcs of stickers were provided in the pack, to tape the 3D plastic socks tightly to ensure the essence are soaking the feet.

“Masking” my feet in progress…

After the masking, I had my feet rinsed and dried.

I waited and waited, there’s no peeling for the next few days!

5 days later…

Finally first sign of peeling started on Day 05 since masking! The dead skin peels off by themselves because of the skin renewal cycle and friction caused by pressure.

Day 6…

More dead skin layers arose!

Day 8…

The appearance of my feet was damn grossed during the peeling process, I had to avoid wearing slippers going out. My feet were just too gross to be seen by the public!

I couldn’t help but tend to have “itchy fingers” to start peeling off the dead skin layers!

The dead skin layers fell everywhere I walked in the house! No pain on the skin during the peeling process, infact my feet and soles felt as per normal.

Day 10…

Most gross feet ever! Dead skin had risen all the way to the sides of my feet!

Day 14…

My soles were smooth and clean! Say hello to my soft and smooth baby-looking feet!

I was surprised that even the dead skin layers on my toes were removed too!

Beauty Bistro’s Baby Easy Foot Pack also contains 13 types of moisturizing ingredients which help to moisturize the skin as dead skin cells are peeled off.

Simple steps to use Baby Foot Easy Pack:

1. After cleaning and dry the feet, place feet into the Easy Packs.
2. Wear the Easy Packs for 2 hours to allow product to absorb.
3. Remove the Easy Packs  and discard. Wash feet with soap and air-dry the feet.
4. Clean any exposed surfaces immediately after use.
5. The dead skin cells will start to peel naturally for about 7 days.
6. Expect to see a softer and smoother skin than before!

Do not expect to see smooth skin immediately after soaking the product. It took me about 1-2 weeks for the dead skin cells to peel off. By right, I was supposed to let the dead skin peel off by itself, but sometimes I couldn’t wait and I started the peeling process by rubbing the foot very gently with a clean cloth or using the palm of my hand.

It’s not recommended to force the removal of the dead skin when peeling process starts as it may cause damage to the skin.

#Review# New Lactacyd Feminine Wash – White Intimate and Revitalize. What’s your preference?

Most ladies know about the importance of feminine hygiene care but how many of us are proactive in using feminine wash to give the intimate area an extra care?

I am not a fan of using female wash, will prefer female wipes because of the convenience to throw after use. But no harm to do an extra step in using feminine wash during shower right?

Ladies should start paying attention to female hygiene care. A couple of reasons why it’s important. SG’s hot weather may cause perspiration which result in darkened bikini area, something similar to underarm darkened skin. The type of clothing wear we have these days, tend to cause excessive friction to the skin, which may also cause skin darkening. Because of all these harsh factors, it’s important to start taking care of the skin at the intimate area.

Lactacyd Feminine Wash is launched with the idea of lightening the skin and keeping the intimate area fresh and moisturized.

Lactacyd White Intimate

pH level is 5.2, which I find it alright so far, no irritation at all. From what I know, the intimate area has a difference pH from normal body wash which can be too harsh to the skin. As a result, infection and itchiness may happen. So it’s recommended to use a feminine wash which has the right pH for the skin.

It promises visible skin lightening after using 4-12 weeks, I wonder if I can use it on my underarm area too…

Lactacyd Revitalize

For the ladies who are looking at moisturizing and firming, Lactacyd Revitalize maybe a good choice.

The Body Shop – Scents of the World

New fragrance collection which I have received from The Body Shop quite sometime ago in August. Scents of the World, is the new collection’s name. Its name simply tells me the new collection is made up of ingredients which are sourced from all over the world.

Scents of the World, is The Body Shop’s first ever collection that contains 100% organic essence and natural extracts from the plants.

There are a total of 5 sets of different scent (range) from flower extracts picked from 5 different places in this world:

• Madagascan Vanilla Flower
• Amazonian Wild Lily
• Japanese Cherry Blossom
• Indian Night Jasmine
• Atlas Mountain Rose

Out of the 5 ranges, Madagascan Vanilla Flower is the only range that has one product, and that’s Madagascan Vanilla Flower Eau De Toilette.

This scent has been picked by mum who is in her late 50s. She describes to me how hot the weather has been around her and how the vanilla scent helps to calm her mood under the sunny sun whenever the wind blows against her. The only con is that the scent is not long-lasting enough and she will have to give a few more sprays after 4 hours.

Every Eau De Toilette glass bottle included in Scents of the World has got this beautiful prints on the back and front of glass. It’s like seeing a 3D picture when I look at the glass bottle.

For the Lily lovers, you may find Amazonian Wild Lily irresistible. Green and fresh, with iris, orchid and papaya alongside white lilies from Brazil, are what made up Amazonian Wild Lilies.

Just like the other 3 scents (Japanese Cherry Blossom, Indian Night Jasmine, Atlas Mountain Rose), Amazonian Wild Lilies consists of 5 products:

I find the floral scent smelling fresh and not too overwhelming with the green grass kind of smell. Amazonian Wild Lilies shower gel and body lotion are now kept in my workplace for me to freshen up anytime when I am dying at work!

Next scent, Japanese Cherry Blossom is nothing new to me. I have ever tried their shower gel before but don’t really like it.

I was actually hoping for more sweet fruity scent instead of the light floral with Chinese Magnolia as one of the top notes. Not my kind of scent but it seems to be very popular for others.

Out of the 5 scents, Indian Night Jasmine smells the most fruity (orange) to me.

Indian Night Jasmine, a flower that only blooms under the moon. Smells a little spicy with notes of Sandalwood. Seductive oriental scent is what Indian Night Jasmine brings.

My pick from The Body Shop Scents of the World is, Atlas Mountain Rose! I have always loved skincare products that comes with rose scent. They never fail to calm my skin, my mind after a long tiring day.

The mountain rose extracts here are from Morocco. But it’s not a 100% rose scent here. Amber and musk are included with some citrus notes. The perfume oil in this case is perfect for me. On some nights before I sleep, I will drip a few drops on a piece of soft paper, attach the the soft paper on the aircon flap, so that when the cold air blows into my room, my room is filled with the calming rose scent!

Scents of the World may come with 5 different scents, but we can always play around with the scents to create a truly individual scent.

#Review# Sunplay Watery Cool Series

Following my review on Sunplay Super Block SPF 130 PA +++, here’s another sunblock review from Sunplay Watery Cool Series,

• Watery Cool SPF 65 PA +++
• Watery Cool Body Mist  SPF 75 PA +++

Sunplay Watery Cool SPF 65 PA +++ is pretty similar to Sunplay Super Block SPF 130 PA +++, comes with the patented Solarex 3-in-3 technology:

1. High long-lasting protection from UVA and UVB rays by reflecting UV rays from the skin
2. Contains anti-aging ingredients to protect the skin against wrinkles and brown spots.
3. Contains Hyaluronic Acid which is well known for providing and locking up the moisture on the skin, preventing moisture loss.

Loves its cute bottle which has a shape close to water droplet. Its well-capped packaging ensures no leakage.

Pouring out the sunscreen is easy, I do not have to worry about excess amount being poured because of the small opening tip.

In terms of texture, Sunplay Watery Cool SPF 65 is the same as Sunplay Super Block SPF 130.

Spreading is easy. As I spread, the sunscreen becomes transparent, leaving no white cast on my skin. My skin feel silky smooth and clear.

The difference between Sunplay Watery Cool SPF 65 and Sunplay Super Block SPF 130 is, the former contains menthol which makes the skin feeling cool and refreshing under the sun. My skin smells like menthol during application!

Sunplay Watery Cool  SPF 65 PA +++  is suitable to be used on face and body.

Sunplay has previously launched a UV mist with SPF 80 PA ++ which I find it so easy to use without staining my hands.

This time, they added a similar product to the Watery Cool series, Sunplay Watery Cool Body Mist SPF 75 PA +++. The difference is the cooling sensation  the new product gives to the body skin during application.

It leaves this menthol minty feel on my skin without making my skin feeling greasy and sticky.

Comes with a nozzle spray, easy to spray on anytime under the sun. This is the sunscreen which keeps my skin cool and protected with its SPF 75 PA +++ and its patented Solarex 3-in-1 technology.

How much to spray depends on individual preferences. I personally give one spray on each area, and spray again as and when I like.

It’s waterproof, splashing water on the applied skin doesn’t remove the silky finish, so I guess the sunblock protection layer has pretty good waterproof properties.

What I like the most is its high SPF 130 PA +++. Not very easy to find a sunblock with high SPF without causing greasiness to the skin.

Brazilian Wax at Pink Parlour

Did you read about my Brazilian Waxing experience at Strip? If you are doing a comparison on Brazilian Waxing experiences, here’s my review at Pink Parlour.

For all my previous appointments with Strip, I purposely chose a weekend to do my treatment, so that I could take my shower before the treatment. Having the appointment on a weekend will mean I can head straight for the treatment after leaving the house, there’s no worry about being embarrassed if there’s an odor.

But it’s also pain for me when my weekend schedule is very packed, and there are times I am feeling so lazy to head out.

One day, I was discussing with my colleague on how to deal with the bad odor when going for a Brazilian wax.

Thanks to her who told me about this showering facility at Pink Parlour!

What I like about the service at Pink Parlour is because I get to shower myself before the wax. It’s very embarrassing to have your bottom naked when it has an odor, especially after a long day out.

And the cute pinky slippers for us to wear to the bathroom and treatment.

Since my colleague has a package there, I decided to use one of her sessions to try out the service. Another plus point at Pink Parlour is, customers get to share package as long as we mention the correct name whom the package is tagged with.

My therapist was Chanel. She was fast in her service and tried to distract my attention by having casual conversation with me throughout the session.

Inside the treatment room, there were bottles of bodycare products, but not all were being used on me.

At Pink Parlour, there’s this pink kitty on every bed, which serves as a de-stresser for those who are afraid of pain during the Brazilian wax session.

My session was very quick, less than 10 minutes and I was done. I couldn’t remember how many waxing strips I had. Chanel did some touch-up for me as well. Touch-up refers to plucking off the few strands that were not removed during the wax because of its short length, or inner location.

Like I said before, the pain during Brazilian Wax is bearable and the whole process is really fast, accurate and before you realize it, it’s done.

When you find the wax is a little too warm for the skin, always feel free to let the therapist knows, she knows what she can do to make you feel comfortable.

And of course, there’s strictly no double dip. Each stick is dipped into the hot wax, apply once, and is thrown before a new stick is picked for the next dip.

I am not sure about the package price at Pink Parlour, but with my friend’s package, I paid about SGD30 or SGD35 for one session.

One box contains 16 sachets. Each sachet is for one piece of wipe, a one-time use and can be conveniently slotted into my bag and I can use it anytime I need. I specially use it between sanitary pad or panty liner changes. The wipes will just freshen up the skin instantly and I really feel very good about it, no worries about feminine odor at work!

I use this powder before heading out on a sunny day when I know I’m going to be outside perspiring and may not have the chance to visit the toilet.

I will just have to sprinkle some powder onto my panties (or panty liner if you are wearing) before wearing. Alternatively, I can pour out an moderate amount of the powder onto my palm, and pat them on my external vaginal area. The powder helps to absorb moisture 25 times more effectively than talc-based products because of their cornstarch-based formula.

A little knowledge to share:

[1] Fret not when comes to vaginal discharge. Vaginal discharge is just our body’s natural way of cleaning and moistening the vagina. It’s normal if it’s clear or cloudy, white or off-white in colour. The colour, texture and amount of discharge vary during the menstrual’s cycle.

[2] Vaginities means inflammation of the vagina. It causes itch, odor or abnormal discharge. Usually caused by hormones change, tight-fitting clothes and wrong use of products (too high or low pH) for the vaginal area.

In any cases if you experience abnormal changes and situation doesn’t seem to improve, do consult a doctor for help.

We also had a Zumba workout session taught by Charlotte, owner of LifeSparks gym. OMG, the 20-30 minutes nonstop workout which consists of Kpop, hollywood dancing, aerobics really got all of us  into deep sweat! But it’s fun yeah!

Finally we indulged ourselves in refreshing yogurt (by Sogurt) and food. We were really hungry after Zumba workout session, and the yogurt really came at the right time! If you think yogurt is fattening, then you are wrong! Owner of Sogurt shared with us how yogurt can be part of our healthy diet without adding too much fats to our body!
