#Review# Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk SPF50 PA+++

Tried out another sunblock from Sunplay recently.

Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk comes with SPF50 PA+++, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, oil-free, and colour-free. It is also water proof and sweat proof.

The small opening ensures no spillage and no worries on pouring out excess amount.

Unlike most sunblock that comes in creamy texture, Sunplay Skin Aqua is like a lotion, comes in light watery texture. Contains Collagen and Pro Vitamin B5 to maintain skin’s firmness and elasticity.

Give the bottle a few shakes before use, and pour out the appropriate amount needed for face and/or body.

Absorption is fast and it leaves my skin a velvety finish. There is not a single bit greasiness or stickiness at all. I use it like a makeup base because the velvety finish makes makeup application very smooth.

My skin feels smooth and soft immediately after use. Because of the Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) content, my skin feels radiant and hydrated for up to 8 hours! All thanks to the patented Solarex 3-in-1 technology with 3 comprehensive levels of UV protection.

In summary, Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Moisture Milk is a multi-purpose sunblock.

  • Provides long-lasting sunblock coverage because of Solarex-3 formula.
  • Helps in delaying anti-aging with the help of collagen and Pro Vitamin B5.
  • Suitable to be used on face and body, and also as a makeup base.
  • Supplies moisture to the skin with SHA content, keeping the skin hydrated and supple.

Defend Your Hair From The Harsh Weather!

Sunsilk, one of the very popular haircare selling in SG, has launched its Weather Defence haircare range.
In this range, there is a shampoo and conditioner, hair treatment in cream and serum textures.

During an exclusive bloggers workshop last weekend, Sunsilk presented to us the Weather Defence which is supposed to protect our hair from the harsh weather.

We had Shawn Lee giving us a background on hair knowledge, he then further explained to us the various factors which add to hair damage,  some important points about hair care.

Did you know…..

Hair increases in length by up to 3% from dry to humid ways…
Curly hair may frizz up, straight hair goes limp.

3/4 of women gets 15% more frizzy when it’s over 24-deg Celsius.

UV rays also cause frizz and several hair damage.

For the first time…

Sunsilk collaborates with Paris-born, NY-based hair expert, Teddy Charles, to co-create the Weather Defence range to protect tresses against humidity and heat! *WOW*

Teddy Charles had ever hair styled on celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker and Cameron Diaz! *IMPRESSED*

Sunsilk and Teddy Charles shared a common dream…

To co-create a Weather Defence range that protects hair and help it to keep its shape in hot and humid weather.

Rare ingredients inside this Weather Defence range…

Sunsilk features the Rose of Jericho, a resurrection ingredient, that comes to life after months of appearing lifeless! *amazing eh*

This amazing plant grows in the valley of the Dead Sea and can survive harsh desert conditions and restore itself after months of appearing lifeless, all because of the naturally occurring ingredient, Trehalose.

Weather Defence was put under test…

Weather Defence range was put to the test on several models with different hair types in a giant humidity chamber known as ‘The Bangkok Room’ before the perfect formula was found. I bet ‘The Bangkok Room’ was really very hot, dry, humid!!  =\

After the test, it was observed that Weather Defence range worked well on the 3F’s!

Weather Defence range targets on 3 F’s…

Frizz | Fly-away | Flatness

Live demo…

Shawn Lee picked one of the bloggers and demonstrated the haircare on her hair.

He used the Weather Defence Leave On Shield and Frizz Control Light Cream onto her curled hair. Before application, her curls were a little loose and hair looked dull.

Shawn emphasized to us the first step during application was to rub the leave-on cream onto the hair, followed by fingers combing to ensure every strand could absorb the cream.

He didn’t pour alot, but he spent quite some time on the combing.

As Shawn combed the hair, we started to see the curls becoming more obvious and her hair looked “life”, no more dullness!

Shawn explained it’s recommended to apply the cream right after conditioning and shampooing, that’s when the hair is wet, the pores of the hair are open, cream can be fully absorbed.

This’s something which i didn’t know and all the awhile, i had been applying hair cream/serum on dry hair, thinking that if i apply on wet hair, the cream/serum would be evaporated in the air!

I was so wrongggggg!

Hair moisture is easily loss even when we are in a normal condition temperature. To prevent this loss, hair cream or serum has to be coated onto the hair when it’s wet, so that when the nutrients are being absorbed into the hair pores, a layer of coating is still on the hair strand to maintain hair moisture, and to prevent it from drying.

Conditioner comes before Shampoo!

Another tip we learnt from Shawn was, applying conditioner before shampooing results in a less frizzy hair! Believe it? Yes i am!

Actually many years ago, i was told by a friend that whenever i used conditioner, i had to ensure my hair was very well rinsed and there should be no traces of the conditioner left on the hair, if not, my hair ends would be even more drier.

So when Shawn recommended about conditioning the hair before shampooing to result in a more manageable hair, and better hair protection, i come to realize, hey, if this method would be able to rinse off the conditioner on my hair, that explains why conditioner comes before shampoo! Shawn suggested to us try it out for 2 weeks to see the results.

Well, i could already see a more manageable hair after 2 days! Infact i shared this method with my colleague and she feedback-ed to me she had been having good hair days!

As for the Weather Defence Serum, i carry it in my bag for regular use in the office which is air-conditioned. The dry air inside the office tends to dry up my hair.

The Weather Defence Serum comes in a very slim bottle, makes it very easy to carry it around in the bag.

#Take TWO

#Take THREE

And so we home went to try out the new hair care from Sunsilk!

My first time to condition my hair before shampoo! The feeling was good, lesser hairloss, and lesser hair entangles!

Upon towel drying my hair, i proceed with the hair cream, Weather Defence Leave On Shield and Frizz Control Light Cream

Comes in creamy texture.

Then I will just leave my hair to dry by itself before sleep.

On and off during the next day while at work, i will just apply the Weather Defence Serum which comes with a pump, prevent leakage.

It’s just a transparent serum, which leaves the hair silky smooth. Not too oily if it is well spread and combed on each hair strands.

I must say Weather Defence range works pretty well on my dry rebonded hair which the frizz tends to appear during bad hair days (due to environment).

Frizz and fly-away have been reduced, less flatness!

Before i end… you can have a chance to try out this new hair care range at FOC!
