My DIY Frutty Tutti Nails

Sometime ago i was lemming for these short fimo. They look so pretty and are very affordable. Not many people have seen these fimo. So when i told them about it, they were asking me what are they for and how to use them.

It’s actually a short fimo, comes in different colours and different cross section designs

How to use? Well, it’s simple and EASY!

Just use a penknife and cut them into thin pieces!

Use those nail art glue (brush on nail glue) and stick the cut-pieces onto the nails!

This glue which i bought is very easy to use, it has a brush which is similar to those from nail polish bottles. The glue is in transparent watery texture. i’ll just have to brush the glue thinly, or a light dab onto the cut fimo pieces, use a tweezer to hold the cut fimo and stick them on the nails, wherever i like!

After i finish my nail art with a top coat.

See my first attempt:

The glue is good, the fimo are very long lasting on my nails, but tend to have 1-2 strands of hair stucked on them during shampoo-ing. Other than that, not much inconvenience was caused.

This is one way of my DIY nail art, it is cheap and easy, not very time-consuming. The cut fimo pieces can be glued on other accessories like handphone, laptops, pens, calculators, camera etc!

There maybe online shops selling these fimo, but do not rush into buying, because you may realize cheaper ones elsewhere!

#Review# Tony Moly Nail Enamel Milky Mint MK06

Here’s my review on one of the colours from Tony Moly nail enamel milky range, Milky Mint MK06. I bought it from the newly opened TM store in JB, usual price was RM 10.90 but I had only spent RM7.20 during their promotion period.

You won’t believe it, I had my nails painted while travelling on a coach! I don’t believe in investing alot for top/base coat, most of the time, I pick  TheFaceShop’s transparent coat to be used as my base/top coat.

See the mint chewy gum with my nails? NAISE eh!

It was really not easy to get my nails done on a moving coach. Transparent coat was easy, I didn’t have to worry about smudging all over my nails and cuticles.

But for the colour, I had to be fast and swift! Yes, it’s true, I couldn’t be slow else the longer I stroked the brush, the more smudge I would have!

MK06 might look nice on my nails, but I had to applied 3 coats to really get the mint I wanted. For some of my fingernails, 2 coats were not enough, I was able to see vertical streaks of paint on my nails, meaning uneven paint, very ugly. So no choice, I had to apply 3rd coat on them, which was already considered quite thick.

Imagine, 1 basecoat + 3 colour coats + 1 topcoat = 5 coats on the nails?? :O

Nevertheless, I quite like this Milk Mint from Tony Moly, very sweet-looking colour on my nails.

Got myself some good deals!

Right after my Maybelline event on a saturday, I happened to see a flea stall selling denim shorts at only SGD10! The flea stall was just right outside Scape and seller had a lot of trust to her customers! Why do I say so? Well, she actually let her customers took more than a pair of shorts to any of the toilets inside Scape to try them on! Can you imagine what if customers are to run away with those shorts? She was helpful too, helped me picked alot of designs and sizes for me to try. Due to time contraint, I only managed to pick 1 pair of demin shorts which suits me!

Low-waist, I like!
The “folding” below the shorts is fake, it is actually sewn to the shorts, I don’t have to worry about it being unfold while walking. (those from Cotton On have this problem!)

Here’s the back view.
Notice the sewn crown at the back pockets? Interesting!

Also grabbed another Puff De Cheeks from JB Watsons Store.
Previously I have gotten PK301, and really loved it alot!
When I saw it retailing at RM44 (Approx SGD 18), I faster grabbed another it in PK303!

Also saw a newly opened Tony Moly and there were having 20% sale on all items! Since TheFaceShop overthere didn’t have the colours which I wanted, I decided to get from TM.

Pearl Pastel PP01 Cherry and Milky MK06 Milky Mint, usual price is RM10.90.
After discount, it was RM17.45 for 2 bottles, that was about SGD7.20 for 2 bottles!

Can’t wait to paint my nails again!

DIY mani using stickies

DIY-ed a simple manicure using stickers full of flowers and butterflies.

I was having OPI Do You Lilac It? for a few days and was bored with the plain colour. But the nail polish was still looking ‘brand new’, and so I didn’t want to remove it. Decided to use some nail stickers to decorate the plain colour.

My stickers had mainly white and black florals and butterflies. Decided to attached one butterfly on my thumb nail while random flowers on the 4 fingernails. Then a new idea strike my mind. Why not have a black floral on the 4th finger to make the design more unique?

Chance upon Gucci lastest fragrance, Flora, aren’t my nails matchy with the new fragrance?

Black Shatter Turns Into Leopard Prints?

Am still feeling damn unsatisfied with my first experience with Black Shatter, so i decide to try it out again, this time, having a lighter colour base coat.

The colours at Jean Yip were so limited, i went ahead to try out a daring one, yellow!

There was only one yellow at the outlet at Esplanade Link, only one yellow in Jean Yip Nail Salon??
It’s Fiercely Fiona~

This time it’s another manicurist who did for me. She didn’t blow one every application like my first experience. But results were still far from my expectation, sigh!

What i noticed was, some black cracks were smooth and shiny (as in there was light reflection and smoothness is noticeable), but most of the black areas looked so brittle and rough, no shine at all!

I came to realize it was their Black Shatter problem, seemed to me the Black Shatter had turned almost dry inside the bottle!! *HORROR* okay, maybe not the whole bottle, but probably those near the bottle neck. this prolly explained the no-shine result.

Not going back there for Black Shatter again! Boo!

Here’s how my “shattered nails” looked like, from afar, they did look like leopard prints, but from near, they looked VERY and TOO MUCH cracks!

And the Fiercely Fiona, the shade at Day 1 was still nice, but by day 2, it turned a little dull! yucks!

Still deciding whether to try a 3rd time at another nail salon…. decision decision decision!

Not gel nails but my own REAL nails!

Manicure has always been extremely popular among the ladies.
Nail arts are getting more and more prettier and innovative everyday, all thanks to the professional manicurists in the world!

No doubt manicure is very affordable these days, nail art is still expensive (to me at least) especially if I am to have them all done on my ten fingernails!

But during one of the CozyCot Holy Grail parties (which is held like once a year?), I managed to buy a one-time session package at an unbelievable price! If I have remembered correctly, it’s SGD28 for 1 classic mani with any nail arts AND 1 classic pedi! Very good deal right? I couldn’t believe it myself during that time and asked plenty of questions to ensure there was no hidden costs.

So where did I buy this 1-time session package from?
It’s Qian Zu Ge!

Pardon me for the “old” watermark in the photo(s), some of the photos are extracted from my old blog.

Qian Zu Ge is like one-stop spa salon for both sexes.
It provides services not just mani/pedi, foot reflexology, body massage, facial treatments are available as well!
I have previously went for their Ayurvedic Massage Treatment, you may want to read more about in this blog post!

I really enjoyed my mani/pedi session at Qian Zu Ge.
The ambience was so cozy and I could have fallen asleep if not for my girlfriend’s company.

The decor in Qian Zu Ge is very Chinese-oriental kind, and every staff has very good customer service. No hard-selling from my past experiences.

I had chosen this strawberry floral nail arts on my 10 fingernails.

Aren’t they gorgeous? I was told full set of these nails at usual price would be like SGD70plus! But I’d paid only SGD28 for this classic mani with nail arts and inclusive of 1 classic pedi session! What a steal!!

Till now, they are still my Number 1 nail arts which I have ever done at any other nail salons.

Cracking Nails?

Went for a manicure session and tried out this highly raved, Black Shatter. My manicurist had actually recommended me this new product few months ago, but at that point of time, I didn’t find it very fantastic and so I didn’t give it a try. But after seeing all the recent raves in facebook and twitter, my curiousity was aroused.

And so I went to top up $5 bucks on top of my mani package to try it.

Honestly speaking, after trying out, i still didn’t find Black Shatter that fantastic. It is only the process of application and observing the cracking that are interesting, but definitely not worth the many hoo’s and ha’s.

I had thought Black Shatter could only apply to the 4 colors (in the photo below), but nope, all colors can be used, it can even be used on bare nails!

For the base color, I chose That One That Got Away, after that Black Shatter was being applied in one thin layer.

Each time the Black Shatter was applied, my manicurist blew on it inorder to “crack faster”, not sure how true this was. I asked her about the thickness of the layer, she told me thickness would only affect the size of the crack.

The cracking patterns vary, there is no way to get the same one each time. so i guess this has sorts of making us lemming to try it even more.
